Our Projects

Ongoing projects:

  • Community Consultation for the Forth Rivers Trust’s Bathgate Water Restoration Project: This project is part of the Trust’s Riverlife: Almond & Avon scheme funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund under the Heritage Grants programme. The findings from the consultation will feed into the development of a masterplan for the project area.
  • Evaluation of Chase & Chalk Landscape Partnership: This is a 4-year scheme (due to run from 2020 to 2024) funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund under the Landscape Partnerships programme. Our work involves developing an evaluation framework and carrying out midterm and final evaluations.
  • Business support for social enterprises: We are part of a consortium that has been providing support to new and existing social enterprise across Cumbria for more than a decade on behalf of the Cumbria Social Enterprise Partnership. This includes support on issues such as legal structures and incorporation, business planning, organisational development, social impact and funding. The current contract is funded by Cumbria County Council.
  • Evaluation of the North Yorkshire County Record Office’s Resilient Records project: This is a 1-year project (due to run from late 2019 to late 2020) funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund under the Resilient Heritage programme. Our work involves developing an evaluation framework and carrying out midterm and final evaluations.
  • Business Plan for an eco-village for homeless people in West Cumbria.
  • Evaluation of Eskdale Mill Restoration Project: This is a 3-year project (due to run from 2018 to 2021) funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund under the Heritage Grants programme. Our work involves developing an evaluation framework and carrying out midterm and final evaluations.
  • Business support for Nexus Fostering.
  • Evaluation of South West Peak Landscape Partnership’s Landscape at a Crossroads: This is a 5-year scheme (due to run from early 2017 to the end of 2021) funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund under the Landscape Partnerships programme. Our work involves developing an evaluation framework and carrying out midterm and final evaluations.

Recently completed projects:

  • Market research to support the development of Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s Wild with Nature project.
  • Consultation Plan for the Forth Rivers Trust’s Bathgate Water Restoration Project: This project is part of the Trust’s Riverlife: Almond & Avon scheme funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund under the Heritage Grants programme. We carried out a review of methods that could be used to consult the local community on the project, focusing on those that could be used during the coronavirus pandemic, and then produced a consultation plan based on the review findings.
  • Business Plan for ecotourism development at Naddle Farm on behalf of RSPB Haweswater.
  • Business support for Owl Blue, a not-for-profit organisation based in West Cumbria that offers services to families of children with hidden disabilities such as autism.
  • Midterm Evaluation of Callander’s Landscape: This is a 3-year scheme (due to run from 2018 to 2021) funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund under the Landscape Partnerships programme.
  • Evaluation of the Northern Fells Group‘s Village Action (Village Agents and Men-in-Sheds) Project. This was a 5-year project funded by National Lottery Community Fund that aimed to tackle rural isolation in 7 parishes across northern Cumbria.
